Pierre Langlois, President

Mr. Langlois is a senior expert with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector and more specifically in the development and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and programs in Canada and internationally. He is recognized as one of the leading international experts in the development and implementation of innovative energy efficiency financial mechanisms and in the start-up and operation of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).

His international experience has led him to work in more than 35 countries on projects carried out or financed by international. Mr. Langlois has also worked for several important electric utilities including CEMIG (Brazil), Démász (Hungary), Électricité de France (EDF), EDP - Electricidade de Portugal (Electricity of Portugal), HEP (Croatia), Hydro-Québec, the Société Algérienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (Sonelgaz) and the Société Tunisienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (STEG) . Over the course of his career, he has acted as member of the board of directors for several ESCOs throughout the world and for some international organizations such as the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO).

His work for Econoler International was recognized many times. Among others, he has received an award at the Clean Technology Award 2000, given by the Climate Technology Initiative (led by the International Energy Agency) and the OECD at the Hague convention on climate changes (COP 6)

Pierre Baillargeon, Vice President

Mr. Baillargeon is a senior expert with over 25 years of experience in many energy efficiency-related sectors. Over the last 8 years, He has also gained a vast experience in the Kyoto mechanisms through his participation in several studies, and practical projects related to carbon credits transactions, and through the development of a many PINs and PDDs.  His international experience has led him to work in more than 40 countries, on projects carried out or financed by international. He has also worked for several important electric utilities including CEMIG (Brazil), Demaz (Hungary), Electricity of Portugal (EDP), HEP (Croatia), Hydro-Québec and the Société Tunisienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (STEG).

His work for Econoler International was recognized many times. Among others, he has received an award from the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada (ACEC) as well as an Award of Excellence from the Korean Government for a project carried out in South Korea. He has also received two awards from the Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l’énergie and two Gala Energia for projects to increase energy efficiency in a copper smelter, which he supervised.

 

Hakim Zahar, Vice President

Mr. Zahar is a senior expert with 30 years of experience in several energy efficiency-related sectors,. In the renewable energy sector in particular, He is recognized for his expertise in the development and implementation of biomass and cogeneration valorization projects using multiple sources of basic energy. For the last 8 years, he has been internationally recognized for his many inputs to innovate in the implementation of the Kyoto mechanisms through his involvement in the development of many PINs and PDDs, including the recent programmatic approach scheme, and through the support he has been providing to carbon credit transactions.

His international experience has led him to work in more than 30 countries, on projects carried out or financed by international. He has also worked for several major electric utilities such as Hydro-Québec (Canada), PNL (Indonesia), Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board and Punjab Electricity Board (India), Union Fenosa (Spain), the Société Algérienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (Algeria), Petrobras (Brazil) and the Société Tunisienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (Tunisia).

 

Philippe Lamarre

Mr. Lamarre holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and a Mater’s degree in Civil engineering from Machassussets Institute of Technology. Since 1985, he has worked in engineering domain, project management and franchise development. Since 2000, he is associated with Lamarre Consultants, a corporation specialized in business start-up financing. He is currently serving on several private enterprises and organizations as charities boards.

 

Réal Laporte

Réal Laporte is graduated from l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. Throughout his career, he principally distinct himself in great scope projects management in Québec as well as overseas. After working twelve years as project engineer with Lavalin firm, he establishes, with his partners, a consulting-engineering firm Soprin Inc. This firm becomes rapidly a leader in engineering and in new technologies. Today, he participates to several private and social enterprises’ administrative boards.
